Vashon Island is close to Seattle and Tacoma, Washington. It is the largest of the islands close to downtown Seattle. People take the ferry to the island to get away from it all, see the farms, be closer to the sea, and be at peace. It is also a “commuting island” in that it is close enough for people to live on the island and commute into the Seattle area for a job.
There are a variety of lodging options on the island. There are bed and breakfast places on the island. The Lodge is one popular lodge with a set of cabins and lodging options. It is downtown and within walking distance to the shops and restaurants.
There are a number of vacation rentals on the island, also. We own a farm on Vashon which we rent out on AirBnb and on VRBO. If you are coming to the Pacific NW or the Seattle or Tacoma area, staying on Vashon Island, and renting a place to stay is one option. Come for peace and contemplation for yourself, partner, or with your small group in our beautiful craftsman home on a 9+ acre farm located on Vashon Island’s west side in park-like landscaping with a view of water and the Olympic mountain range. Our farm is a spiritual and pastoral retreat space for ministers on sabbatical or small group retreat, also.
The island is within two hours of both Mt Rainier and Olympic National Parks.

Here is general information about our farm. It is an Arts and crafts 1920’s farmhouse in excellent condition. Situated on a 9+ acre farm with both beautiful sunrise light on the front porch in the morning
to sunsets on the back porch in the evenings.
While there, the entire private property is yours.
Exquisite landscaping, gardens and orchard around home; most of the land is in pasture grass. We have Cherries and Plums in summer and Apples in Fall with a Colvos Passage water view and Olympic Mountains to the west.

The island offerings are typically quite busy from Memorial Day through Labor Day, so if you are interested in staying during a summer weekend, booking reservations as far in advance as you are able is recommended. The island continues to be busy during the Fall and holiday weekends and is less busy from January through April.
